Key Subjects, Aligned to State Standards

Classworks instructional software includes 10,000+ searchable activities and 6,000+ hours of instruction. Our depth means that your students won't be doing the same activity for different standards.

Integrating Classworks into the Learning Process

Classworks instruction is scaffolded, which means that when students are learning new or difficult tasks, they are given more assistance in the form of repetition, hints and tips, step-by-step guidance, and other techniques. As they begin to demonstrate mastery, the support is decreased gradually in order to shift the responsibility for learning to the student. Classworks instruction encourages and motivates students by providing knowledge and practice of critical skills. As students' confidence, skill, and knowledge levels increase, Classworks provides less and less scaffolding for that task.

The instruction is also spiraled upward throughout grade levels, which means that students learn a concept over time with increasing complexity to reinforce previous learning and help develop a depth of understanding of the concept. Spiraling takes place throughout the school year, and it continues from one year to the next. Concepts are naturally reinforced and revisited in more complex ways over time, not only ensuring retention of the previously learned skill, but promising an extension of learning.

Finally, Classworks instruction is layered so that skills are sequenced in a way that builds on previously learned information. Activities are presented such that building block skills are learned before the next layer of the concept is introduced.
