One of the greatest challenges facing school districts today is keeping high school students both in school and on track for graduation.  Nationally only some 70% of students graduate on time with a regular diploma; students who grow up in poverty or not speaking English graduate at much lower rates.

As we all know, a student who is most likely to fail or drop out gets behind well before high school.  The predictors often surface prior to middle school in course grades and high stakes assessment results.  Use of Classworks, particularly with its unique ability to read assessment data and place students in the courseware based on identified knowledge deficiencies, helps address the needs of likely dropout candidates before they ever enter high school.

Response to Intervention

When the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) was reauthorized in 2004, along with it came a new term and concept in educational reform, Response to Intervention (RtI). RtI provides a new approach for identifying students with learning deficiencies rather than the traditional "waiting to fail" model. This process guides the interventions that begin as soon as any student begins to fall behind in the classroom.

Instructional technology has the potential to help teachers do all this and more...

Sharing is Good: Classworks/NComputing Partnership extends individualized learning for students, without extending district pocketbooks

Educators are in the middle of a seemingly unsolvable equation: how to meet the needs of 30 different students simultaneously without spending all of their money on hardware before they even have a chance to choose the right instructional software.  Classworks is recognized as one of the only proven methods to truly help individualize instruction for students simultaneously.  At the same time, PC prices have leveled off and taxpayers want to pay less to fund education.

Classworks End of Year Procedures

As the school year is coming to a close, it is important to remember to complete Classworks' end-of-year procedures to prepare Classworks for the 2008-09 school year.

This process involves backing up the data file and then deleting student results, un-enrolling students from their classes, promoting students one grade level, and removing students and teachers who will no longer be enrolled at the school. Please contact your educational consultant for recommendations regarding when to close out your Classworks install for the year and to discuss which End of Year option works best for your location.
